The Ventura Film Festival Celebrating Sustainability Action Through Filmmaking

The Ventura Film Festival has earned recognition as "the grandest film festival ever to take place in Ventura County." This prestigious recognition underscores the festival's passion for delivering exceptional cinematic experiences to the area while preserving its dedication to critical environmental causes.

The Ventura Film Festival is established as a multi-genre global film festival that cultivates understanding of environmental issues such as forest and sea protection and rehabilitation, through an annual film festival and complementary events. The organization employs the medium of movies to motivate engagement and establish purposeful communication concerning these urgent ecological issues.

The Ventura Film Festival launched in 2004 and has screened hundreds of films, generally exceeding 200 films per summer season, and has captured notice from the global film industry. The founding executive director of the Ventura Film Festival was chosen to participate, together with many of Hollywood's biggest stars, in the 50-year anniversary event of West Side Story and Hollywood's prestigious footprint/handprint ceremony honoring Academy Award recipients Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, as well as Golden Globe champion Russ Tamblyn at the famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
